MHCP COLAB Works for Miami Dade Transportation Planning Organization for Mobility Hub Study

Colab provided communications and urban planning services for this planned mobility hub including a project prioritization matrix for streetscape and improved access, project talking points and survey.

Melissa Hege Leads Station Area Planning for Broward Commuter Rail 

In March 2021, Melissa Hege was brought in to evaluate station locations according to FTA New Starts program criteria and provide additional leadership for urban design and planning for the NEPA portion of this PD&E study for FDOT including public outreach.

Colab lead a walking tour for transportation professionals through the Little Havana neighborhood to highlight planned Pedestrian Priority Zone Improvements.

Variance Approved January 2022 for Luxury Oceanfront Condominiums in Hillsboro Beach

A variance was approved for Hillsboro Property Owner LLC, a joint venture of The Related Group and  Dezer Development, to build luxury residential condominiums and villas at 1174-1185 Hillsboro Mile on nearly 12 acres of land. The property is divided in two by Hillsboro Mile with the east side planned as a 10-story building with 72 units and the west side parcel planned as 28 condominiums with an 11 slip marina and other amenities for unit owners only.

MHCP COLAB Runs Outreach and Community Support for Related Group and City of Hollywood Public Private Partnership

A transformative beachfront project will rebuild $10M of public improvements on public land, including a state of the art community center, 60,000 square feet of public open space and 158 public parking spaces on leased public land. In exchange, the Related Group will build a 30-story luxury residential building with a financial package that will yield $35M in upfront payments and $1B over the 99-year lease period paid to the City of Hollywood.

Urban Land Institute features MHCP COLAB's Work with West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority

Urban Land Institute publishes a compilation of national and international quick changes to the public realm in response to the pandemic on the one-year anniversary of the global quarantine including West Palm Beach's Dining on the Spot program, which was initiated as a result of the temporary use process that was developed by MHCP COLAB.

Press Event to Announce Bipartisan Effort for $3M Appropriations from State Legislation

On August 10, 2021 MHCP COLAB hosted a press conference to celebrate the installation of new 25 MPH speed limit signs. Senator Garcia and Representative Grieco presented a ceremonial check for the $3,000,000 secured this past legislative session for the local project.

West Palm Beach Pop-ups Tactical Urbanism Permitting During a Pandemic Featured in Florida Planning Fall 2020

MHCP COLAB develops process for approving temporary activation projects in West Palm Beach in a multi-departmental collaborative effort which helped their Downtown Development Authority pivot to expand outdoor dining following the March lockdown.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital and Nuvo Suites Unveiling of "Home Away from Home Initiative"

MHCP COLAB developed the partnership and PR campaign as a culmination of ongoing efforts to provide a Family Suite at the hotel for patient's families.   “We are extremely grateful to Nuvo Suites for stepping up in a big way to help children and families in need,” said Matthew A. Intracoastal Master Plan Dezer Development

Intracoastal Master Plan Approved November 2020 for Dezer Development

MHCP COLAB lead the virtual outreach campaign for North Miami Beach's Eastern Shores for a new 23 acre neighborhood on behalf of Dezer Development.

Wynwood Street Tree Master Plan Approved October 2020

City of Miami approves Wynwood Street Tree Master Plan. MHCP COLAB lead the outreach effort and provided planning and implementation services for City of Miami and Arquitectonica Geo.

Bicycle + Pedestrian Plan for Gainesville Urbanized Area LRTP, Summer 2019

MHCP COLAB developed the bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure needs assessment and recommendations for Gainesville Urbanized Area's 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) as a subconsultant. The plan includes protected bike lanes and an improved sidewalk network.

Yes/No Illuminate Coral Gables

Illuminate Coral Gables Founder + Artists Featured on WLRN Sundial 2021

The City of Coral Gables hosted an outdoor public art and light installation called “Illuminate Coral Gables,” February thru March 2021. MHCP COLAB arranged this interview with husband and wife artists Antonia Wright and Reuben Millares and co-founder Patrick O'Connell.
